Jean, born August 9, 1932 to Earl Hooe and Ollie Dennis Hooe, was one of ten children. The family experienced extreme poverty, and an exceptionally hard, backbreaking life for many years. From this upbringing Jean learned the invaluable lessons of hard work, selfsacrifice, and absolute love of, and dedication to, family. Jean met her husband Lamar at Consolidated Aircraft (subsequently General Dynamics, and now Lockheed). Jean and Lamar were dedicated and loving spouses, best friends, and partners for 62 years until Lamar’s death on January 30, 2016.

Jean and Lamar were the proud and loving parents of Vivian Ann Loftin Trojack and James Allen Loftin.

Jean excelled in math and was a true business partner with Lamar in their various businesses. She had a talent for artistic endeavors. She was an excellent cook and baker. Her sewing skills included making clothing for herself and her children. She could do cross stitch and embroidery and could paint. She could also play the piano and the harmonica. She was also athletic and exercised for most of her life. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Ollie Hooe, and her siblings Elizabeth Carr, Ruby Williams, Eva Carr, Cleve Hooe, Naomi Pemberton, R.E. Hooe, and Katherine Hooe. She was also predeceased by her Hooe in-law family members: Joe Carr, Ray Williams, Bob Carr, Joyce Lee Hooe, Harold Pemberton, Joy Hooe, Jeraldine Hooe and Bill Daniel. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lamar’s sister, Olice Loftin Jolley. Surviving siblings are Margaret Jo Hooe Daniel and Paul Hooe. Her surviving immediate family are Vivian Ann Loftin Trojack, James Allen Loftin, daughter-in-law, Terri Lumley Loftin; and sonin- law David Shiring (both of whom she considered her additional daughter and son). Jean is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, and “greats” too many to list, from both sides of her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations in Jean’s memory: in honor of Vivian Trojack: Operation Kindness (no-kill animal shelter), 3201 Earhart Drive, Carrollton, TX 75006, operationkindness.org. In honor of James Loftin: Habitat for Humanity, habitat. org; or the charity of your choice.
