James Leroy White
Funeral services for James Leroy White, a Coalgate resident, were held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro. Jim Lyons officiating, assisted by Kathy Hurst. Burial was in Center Hill Cemetery in Atoka with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.
Mr. White was born July 24, 1942 to James Hubert “Buck” and Velma White at Granite, OK and passed away December 3, 2022 at Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 9 days. James served his country 3 years in the Army and 2 years in Air Force Reserves. He was a police officer both active and reserve for 40 plus years and a factory worker. James loved the Lord, he served his God, community and family as an ordained minister for most of his adult life. When he wasn’t preparing hearts or protecting the streets he enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, playing dominoes, traveling and spending time with family.
He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Hinkle and husband Jeremy of Muskogee, OK; son, Brian White and wife Becky of Muskogee, OK; five grandsons, Kyle White of New Jersey, Tyler White of Georgia, Aubrey Garrett, Qua Hinkle, and Dylan Kimbrell all of Muskogee; five granddaughters, Sarina White of Florida, Brooklyn Campbell and husband Jay, Brianna White, Haylie White all of Muskogee and Meadow Garrett of Gore, OK; three greatgrandchildren plus one on the way; sister Joyce Strickland of Caddo, OK; brothers, Delbert White and wife Mary of Coalgate and Carl White of Arlington, TX; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, JH “Buck” and Velma White; sons, Michael White and Jimbo White; brothers, Harvey White and Henry White; and sisters, Lily Dove and Gail Shaw.
Casketbearers were Aubrey Garrett, Dylan Kimbrell, Quai Hinkle, Jay Campbell, Dustin McGlothlin, and Junior Hurst; honorary bearers were Haylie White, Meadow Garrett, Brianna White, and Brooklyn Campbell.
