James David Barton
Funeral services for James David Barton, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident, were held Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro Bartt Bradford officiating. Burial was in Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Barton was born April 4, 1956 to Lloyd James and Dolores Kathleen (Henson) Barton at Coalgate, OK and passed away May 18, 2021 at his home in Atoka, at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 14 days, surrounded by his loved ones. He graduated from Atoka High School and was president of Henson Propane, was a certified welder and a rancher. He was engaged to Toni Brown. David was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, counting cattle, collecting and tinkering with old cars, hunting and fishing and most of all, loved hanging out with his grandsons.
Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Fincher and husband Mack of Caddo, OK; son, Matt James and wife Charlie of Atoka, OK; fiance, Toni Brown of Atoka; grandsons, Rawlins Fincher of Caddo, Ty James and Baker James, both of Atoka; sister, Karen Henderson and husband Ronnie of Atoka; nieces and nephews, Angie Hodge and husband Brian of Caddo, Crystal Meurer of Tushka, OK, Brandie Humphrey and husband Zack of Edmond, OK and Jessica Smith of Farris, OK; along with numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear and loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd James and Dolores Kathleen (Henson) Barton and grandparents, Frank and Fannie Henson and Glenn and Frankie Barton.
Casketbearers were Randy Hutson, Jerrall Northrip, Scott Cochran, Glenn Burnett, Matt James, and Ronnie Henderson. Honorary casketbearers were Jack Klaus, Dianna Lansdale, Rickey Cox, Kevin Harris and Mike Thomas.
