Glenda Sue Raines

Glenda Sue (Whitmire) Raines, a Coalgate resident, passed away November 10, 2023 at Coalgate at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 21 days. She was born January 20, 1950 to Earnest L. and Wanda Sue (Workman) Whitmire at Caddo, OK. Glenda attended Phillips and Minco Grade School and graduated from Coleman High School in the Class of 1968. She was an in-home caregiver and loved watching Astros baseball.

Survivors include her sons, Stacy Raines of Justin, TX and Shannon Raines and wife Alyssa of Atoka; brothers, David Whitmire of Sherman, TX and Gary Whitmire and wife Lisa of Filmore, OK; grandsons, TJ Davis and wife Alison of Port Aransas, TX, Kyler Raines of Bokchito, OK and Joseph Raines of Atoka; granddaughter, Ruby Raines of Atoka; greatgrandson, Josiah Davis of Port Aransas, TX, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and dearly loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earnest “Junior” Whitmire; mother, Wanda Sue Whitmire; brother, James Leroy Whitmire. The family will hold a memorial service at a later time.
