Graveside services for Dorothy Mae (Lanoy) Ennis, a Wardville resident, were held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Coalgate Cemetery with Rev. Rick Nichols officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ennis was born January 29, 1936 to Clemo and Bertha (Thompson) Lanoy at Coalgate, OK and passed away June 7, 2024 at her home in Wardville at the age of 88 years, 4 Months and 9 days. She attended Coalgate school. Dorothy was a CNA for Home Health Agencies and was manager of Wade Enterprises. She retired in 2006 at the age of 70 years. Dorothy married Virgil Lee Ennis on January 5, 1957 at the home of Mrs. Grace Holt. They were blessed with 67 years of marriage before her passing. Dorothy was a faithful member of the South Agnew Church of God in Oklahoma City for 30 years. She also attended the Church of the Nazarene in Coalgate. Dorothy enjoyed cooking and reading and loved working with the children at church.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil Lee Ennis of the home in Wardville; daughter, Linda Gail (Ennis) Pogue and husband Gary Lynn of Oklahoma City; grandson, Travis Lee Pogue of Oklahoma City; sisters-inlaw, Willie Lanoy and Pat Lanoy of Yukon, OK; brotherin- law Frankie Hunt and wife Barbara of Atoka, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clemo and Bertha (Thompson) Lanoy; brothers, Edward Lanoy, Henry Ray Lanoy, Frank Lanoy, Leroy Lanoy and Alfred Lanoy; sisters, Freda Joyce Sevier and Winfred “Winkie” Hunt; and grandson, Cody Lynn Pogue.

Casketbearers were Gary Walton, Dillon Walton, Henry Rhyne, Jacob Rhyne, Jim Rhyne and Charlie Hall. Honorary bearers were George Mills, Darrell Mills, Roger Wilson, Jack Wilson, Frankie Hunt and Christy Rhyne.
