Connie Sue (Wallace) Hooten
Funeral services for Connie Sue (Wallace) Hooten, a Hugo resident, were held Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev. John Coffman officiating. Burial was in Centrahoma Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wooten was born on November 8, 1951, to Cleveland Benjamin and Dovie Ann (Jackson) Wallace, at Casa Grande, Arizona and passed away on July 10, 2024, at Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 2 days. Connie attended school at Southside in Casa Grande, Arizona. She was a Certified Nurses’ Aide for a Home Health Agency and was also a truck driver. Connie was a member of the Gospel Life Center in Hugo. She collected angels and butterflies. Connie liked painting, listening to gospel music, singing gospel music and going to church. Her favorite times were spent loving on her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Scott Jr. and wife Salena, Terry Tanner and fiancé Donnie Reeves all of Coalgate and Amy Scott of Hugo; grandchildren, John Tanner, Lane Scott, Renee Carter, Tori Scott, Marshall Hearrell, Sofia Scott and Paul Scott; 14 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; siblings, Ann Coffman and husband John of Tecumseh, OK, Darrell Wallace and wife Jennie of Cooledge, AZ, Tommy Wallace and wife Dawn of Ramrock, AZ; along with numerous nieces, nephews and dearly loved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland Benjamin and Dovie Ann (Jackson) Wallace; her husband, Jerry Scott Sr.; siblings, Doyle Wallace, Lavella Trantham, Freda LaFavre, Shirley Clubb, Sharon LaFavre and Carol Wallace.
Casketbearers were John Tanner, Lane Scott, Jason Wallace, Jarred Coffman, Justice Coffman, and James Trantham.
