Connie Jo Kammerer

Services for Connie Jo Kammerer, a longtime Atoka, OK resident were held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro. Shane Hamilton officiating. Brown’ Funeral Service of Atoka was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kammerer was born August 29, 1949 to Russell and Betty Jo (Black) Powell at Perryton, TX and passed away January 7, 2021 at Durant, OK at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 9 days. She graduated from Perryton High School in Perryton, TX in 1967 and was a housewife and homemaker.

Connie married Barney Kammerer in 2006 in Atoka and they enjoyed 14 years of marriage before her passing. She was a member of Blackjack Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, reading, and was active in her children’s sporting activities and loved to travel.

Survivors include her husband, Barney Kammerer of the home in Atoka; sons, Russell Fincher and Anthony Fincher, both of Atoka; step-son, Selby Appleton of Chickasha, OK; grandchildren, Stoney Parker of Lehigh, OK, Tori Parker Woods and husband John of Coalgate, OK and Geryn Appleton of Chickasha, OK; great-grandchildren, Charlee Woods and Jayce Woods, both of Coalgate; brothers, John Powell and wife Anna of Texas and Tyson Powell of Idaho; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Betty Jo (Black) Powell and daughter, Shawna Parker.
