Bobby Zane Thomas
Funeral services for Bobby Zane Thomas of Coalgate were held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Coalgate First Baptist Church with Bro. Will Clark officiating. Burial was in Wards Family Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate
charge arrangements.
Bobby was born January 29, 1938 to Hugh and Willie Frank (Hargrove) Thomas at Muleshoe, TX and passed away February 20, 2019 at Tulsa, OK at the age of 81 years and 22 days. He attended and graduated from Coalgate High School in 1957. Bobby married Melva Ward on June 21, 1958 in Coalgate. He was a rancher served on the PEC Board for many years and was a member of the Western Farmers Electric CO-OP, Coal County Conservation, Coal County Hospital Board, Coalgate First Baptist Church, as well as a Deacon of the church for many years. He enjoyed watching westerns, bull riding, and feeding and checking cattle. However, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him the most joy.
Survivors include his wife, Melva Thomas of Coalgate; children, Sonya Holliday and husband Dave of Bixby, OK, Mark Thomas and wife Robyn, Greg Thomas, Lana Thomas, all of Coalgate and Alejandra Landa of Queretaro, Mexico; grandchildren, Hailee Miller and husband Matt of Tulsa, Colt Thomas of OKC, Hillary Myers and husband Dave of Bixby, Chance Garcia of Los Angeles, CA, Heath Holliday and wife Mychelle of Stillwater, Laynie Thomas of Durant, Landon Garcia of Tulsa, Taitum Thomas and Reece Garcia both of Coal-gate; great-grandchildren, Madden Holliday Myers, Max David Myers, Maverick Thomas Myers all of Bixby, Mia Mychelle Holliday of Stillwater and Rhett Thomas Miller of Tulsa; sisters, Elwanda Williams of Shawnee and Sue Flowers of Atoka; brother, Pete Thomas of Coalgate along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear and loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Ben Thomas, Elmo Thomas, A. W Thomas, Doyle Thomas, Eileen Sandmann, Max Thomas, Rudolph Thomas and Royce Thomas.
Casketbearers were Larry Bart Pope, David Shores, Frank Shores, Walter Roebuck, Justin Moore, Leon Carter, Wayne Blue, Dan Clements, Jim Clemens, Clay Mowdy and Charles Canida. The PEC Board served as honorary bearers.
