Betty Francis Coplen

Services for Betty Francis (Carrell) Coplen, a Coalgate resident, will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with David Meek officiating. Family night will be Saturday evening, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel.

Mrs. Coplen was born December 25, 1941 to Austin Edward and Velma Odessa (Blair) Carrell at Rolla, MO and passed away February 25, 2022 at Coalgate at the age of 80 years, and 2 months. She graduated from Rowlett, Texas High School and was a nurse’s aide. Betty was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed crossword puzzles, spending time with her family and reading her Bible every day.

Survivors include a son, David Meek of Ada, OK; daughter, Donna Good; son, Danny Good; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin Edward and Velma Odessa (Blair) Carrell; brothers, Edward Carrell, Bobby Carrell, Joe Carrell, Billy Mack Carrell, Ronald Carrell and Leland Carrell; daughters, Judy Kay Meek and Deanna Sue Pierce.
