Funeral services for Arnold Alfred Adams, Sr., a Coalgate resident, formerly of Alex, Oklahoma, will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Eddie Hogue officiating. Family night is Wednesday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Adams was born on November 10, 1952, to Shirley Kendall and Barbara Jean (Dodd) Adams, at Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was lucky enough to have two mothers. Barbara Jean gave him life and Belva Jean raised him.

Arnold passed away on July 20, 2024, at Coalgate, Oklahoma, at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 10 days. He graduated from Cashion High School and attended Oklahoma Christian Community College to pursue a Business Degree. Arnold was a truck driver for the oilfield.

He married Paula Jane Compton on June 16, 1973, at Kingfisher, Oklahoma. They celebrated 51 years together. Arnold was of the Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed carpentry work, cooking and smoking meats. Arnold loved to work. His favorite times were spent with family and friends playing dominoes and cards.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Jane Compton of the home in Coalgate, OK; children, Arnold Alfred Adams Jr of Lindsey, OK, Amy Blackburn and husband Daniel of Coalgate, OK, Rosalee Adams of Ada, OK and Amanda Adams of Ada, OK; grandchildren, Bailee Adams, Mason Dixon Adams, Dallas Richmond and wife Rainie, Landon Richmond, Brandon Richmond, Montana Blackburn, Austin Richmond, Sarah Mansel and husband Robert, Trey Adams Jr., Addyson Richmond, Lylyann Richmond, Ryder Richmond, Roderick Richmond, Zi Richmond, Alexander Mansel, Bentley Mansel, Addeline Mansel, Sadie Mansel and Madison Mansel; sisters, Anna Unruh and husband Clifford, Sheryl Adams, Lori Unruh and husband Rick.

He was preceded in death by his father, Shirley Kendell Adams; mothers, Barbara Jean (Dodd) Adams and Belva Jean Adams; grandson, Arnold Alfred “Trey” Adams III and brother, Dennis Adams.
