Mia Johnston and her mother, Jeanna Johnston, won the Oklahoma State Roundup Club Association state championships recently in their age divisions. This was Mia’s first time winning the all around title and Jeanna’s 4th straight time to win the all around title. They are the first mother/daughter to ever win these titles as far as anyone knows. The OSRCA is the oldest rodeo association in the state of Oklahoma and has contestants from all over the state compete over two weekends. Contestants must compete in 4 events and on the same horse. Mia attends Tupelo High School as a freshman and has been riding horses since she was 2 years old. She has won many championship titles and plans to go to college on a rodeo scholarship. Jeanna competed in rodeos from a very young age. They were competing through the Ada Area Round Up Club.

Read moreADA, OK - Over 350 Oklahoma high school students met in Ada on Monday to celebrate Southern Oklahoma Student Aero Day 2024. The day began at East Central University where students heard from key legislators including Senator John Haste, the Chair of the Senate Aeronautics and Transportation Committee and Representative Ronny Johns, House Transportation Chair. The two state leaders spoke about the importance of aerospace to Oklahoma’s economy. Students were also presented a keynote message from Captain John Keilty, a retired navy pilot, who encouraged them to find their passion in aviation.
