Two Tupelo Elementary teachers have been notified that they have been selected to receive the Carolyn Watson Grant for the 2024-2025 school year. Mrs. Emily Brown and Mrs. Jill Brown will receive up to $5,000 each for classroom enhancements to provide more unique and thorough education to their students. On behalf of Tupelo Public Schools, we are extremely proud of these ladies for always pursuing the best for their students. We are genuinely humbled and appreciative of the generous grants to our school via the Carolyn Watson Foundation. A brief history about the grant is described on the website, https://occf. org/rural/, as: “Carolyn Watson was a woman of action and understood the value of blessing others with the gifts she was given. The longtime chair and CEO of Shamrock Bancshares wanted to improve the quality of life for the residents living in the rural southern Oklahoma communities where her banks are located.
