Read moreSometimes you just can’t win. I remember long ago when I was in the Navy. We had just completed a port call in Yokosuka, Japan. Its duration was two weeks but the first day we pulled out I saw this real long line of sailors on the hanger deck. I learned that the USS Lexington crew (1,100 of them) was the worse infected crew in the 7 fleet. That long line of sailors were waiting for medical attention for their recently caught VD. I went up to my workstation and learned all about it. Not any of my guys were infected. In fact, it was all on the deck divisions and some of our so called “air dales” who had gone ashore and partaken of the shore delights they should have avoided.

Andy is a typical early riser. Meaning he is usually up, dressed and sitting at the desk in his office by around seven every morning. Which causes him to see the sun began to filter cautiously thru the blinds and get stronger as morning passes. One such morning, he glanced at the window and thought, “Huh, sure seems awfully hazy and cloudy to be the gorgeous day the weatherman predicted. Hopefully, maybe those clouds will get burned off by the sun, ‘cause we sure need it today.”

Years ago, songwriter Mac Davis penned the lyrics to a song about a tiny orphan girl who evidently longed to experience being loved. In the song, “WHOEVER FINDS THIS, I LOVE YOU” she writes a note containing those words, and it into the wind. A lonely old man eventually found the note among the autumn leaves and read her plea for love. That was the beginning of a beautiful and warm friendship that both of them desperately needed.
